We spent the morning hauling rolls of synthetic turf up three flights of stairs to the rooftop. The old gravel surface had to be swept clean and leveled before we could lay down the base layer and cut the grass to fit around the AC units and drainage vents. By afternoon, the empty gray roof was transformed into a cozy mini lawn, complete with a few potted plants and a couple of foldable chairs for lounging in the sun.
